Maker's Workshop: Build Your Own Synthesizer

Artists, builders, and musicians unite!

Presented by U.Va.’s College and Graduate School of Arts & Sciences

This hands-on workshop will lead you through the construction of your own small working synthesizer, yours to keep at the end of the workshop. Learn about the construction and operation of a basic synthesizer from Peter Bussigel and Travis Thatcher from the U.Va. McIntire Department of Music.

Ideal for beginners eager to learn more, but even experienced builders/musicians will have the opportunity to further explore modifications and circuit bending type applications of the workshop synth.

This event is free, but participants must pay a $5 supplies fee. Participants should be 12 and up, with anyone under 18 signing up with an adult who will be present. Participation is capped at the first 15 people to sign up.
