Crissanne Amaio Raymond grew up in the Virgin Islands where her love of fresh, natural and local foods began and also where she developed NoBull Burger: the Gourmet Veggie Burger. She has always been passionate about food and began cooking professionally on a 42’ Charter Sail boat in the Caribbean, planning and cooking for large groups on week long charters. She also worked as a pastry chef for several restaurants creating their desserts while still living in St Thomas.
Upon her arrival to Charlottesville, Virginia, Crissanne was a sous chef for Post Street Catering and also taught cooking classes at local trade school CATEC for several years. She was the dessert chef in 3 local restaurants while working as a private chef on the weekends, which led to the launching of Glorious Foods Catering Company in 1997. She quickly became a well sought after chef for events at Monticello, Montpelier, and Miller Center with countless weddings and private events to name a few.
She noticed the huge trend in healthy eating, and had created a veggie burger many friends and family loved and begged for. She will tell you she never sold a veggie burger in all her professional cooking years but she knew it was a winner! After selling her catering business and still fostering the entrepreneurial spirit, she decided to get the veggie burger out to market.
Her daughters, Heather and Elizabeth both committed to help make the vision a reality, working tirelessly to offer the burgers to the local restaurants and stores, and the business quickly grew to jump the borders of Charlottesville where they can now be found in states up and down the East Coast and the Mid-Atlantic region. Recently NoBull Gourmet Veggie Burgers aligned with a national distributor and soon will be found in stores across the nation.
