Jeanette Abi-Nader grew into local food justice issues while farming in numerous settings both urban and rural for nearly two decades. She is the Executive Director for City Schoolyard Garden, an emerging non-profit that builds equity by engaging youth in nature, enhancing academic learning, and cultivating skills for healthy living, through gardening and garden-based programming for Charlottesville city school youth.
For a dozen years, Ms. Abi-Nader served as Director of Evaluation, Training & Capacity Building at Community Food Security Coalition, a leading national non-profit promoting health and food security. She is a founding member of the Growing Food and Justice For All Initiative based at Growing Power, Milwaukee. Jeanette is also a permaculturalist.
